Podiatry is the assessment of how your foot, ankle and lower limb interacts with the floor and whether this could influence your injury or pain.
Podiatry uses gait analysis, assessment of muscle strength and range of motion of the joints to review how you move when walking or running.
In the event there are some abnormal movement patterns the podiatrist will be able to issue a number of treatments , such as stretching, strengthening and in some cases the use of custom made Orthotics, a device placed inside the shoe to alter the interaction of the foot and lower limb with the ground.
